JJB Security Consulting and Training, LLC (JJBSec) is a security consulting company founded by Jay Beale and Cynthia Smidt. It provides training and intellectual property creation entirely in the IT Security space.

Jay is the Lead Developer of the Bastille Linux project, author of the Center for Internet Security's Unix security audit tool, and a member of the Honeynet Project. He also serves George Washington University's Cyber Security Policy and Research Institute as a Senior Research Scientist. He speaks frequently at conferences and government symposia in North America, Europe and Asia.

Cynthia Smidt is the CEO of JJBSec and is responsible for providing direction and managing day-to-day operations of the company. Cynthia is an accomplished trainer and technical author. Formerly, she provided the voice of "Dave," the software reviewer for which DaveCentral.com, a former OSTG site, is named. Cynthia also maintains an art business, which has both sold previously-created work and created a number of works on spec.

Intelguardians

JJBSec is now referring all consulting work directly to Intelguardians, a Maryland-based consulting company founded recently by Ed Skoudis, Mike Poor, Eric Cole, Bob Hillery, James Alderson and Jay Beale. This group has produced twelve books in the IT Security space, countless articles, and has worked substantially in creating courses for the SANS Institute, where Mr Skoudis, Mr Poor, My Hillery and Dr Cole still teach.

Intelguardians performs a superset of the services offered by JJBSec, including penetration tests, architecture review, incident response, and code audits.

Jay continues to offer training, both through major conference organizations and to individual corporate and government clients.
